I highly recommend Ascend to anyone who wants to feel better and get stronger. The instructors here are just the best.
Two years ago at the age of 55, I decided I finally had to get my weight down and take much better care of myself. I had let myself get heavier and heavier over the years. I weighed 250 lbs and could see 300 lbs was coming up quick. That had to stop. I had high blood pressure, borderline diabetic and arthritis was starting in my hip joints.
I was scared to join a gym because I was so out of shape. My sister-In-law, Renee, encouraged me to try out her gym. I tried for two days and joined on the third day and have been coming ever since. Everyone in class nice. No one judged me and the instructors are so helpful and encouraging. Over time, inches and fat started dropping and I was getting physically and mentally stronger. My blood pressure is down as is my blood sugar.
When I first started this journey, I would have laughed at anyone who said I would really like working out and that I'd miss it when I couldn't attend. Turns out, that is very true. I love feeling stronger and having muscles and I do not like to miss any of my classes.
When I'm in class, I don't think about what went on in my day prior to arriving at the gym. I just concentrate on what I need to do in class and it's a good feeling.
Ascend Fitness is by far the best gym I have ever been to, hands down. I have been active my whole life & have attended so many gyms from martial arts to gymnastics & all I can say is that no other gym is as attentive & knowledgeable as Ascend!
My weight loss journey started in December of 2020 where I had mainly been focusing on losing weight and body fat. Then along came July of 2021 & I felt like I needed an extra push. I needed to start building muscle/toning up and couldn’t figure out how.
I came across Ascend Fitness thanks to my sister-in-law who was participating in a 6 week challenge with them. The moment she told me about it, I wanted to join!
When I signed up I felt so welcomed by everyone. (NO INTIMIDATION WHATSOEVER! I feel like this is everyone’s fear when joining a gym.) It was just such a friendly environment.
I started doing their Strength/HIIT workouts. They were really making me feel stronger by the week. I was also being taught how to properly do the exercises to fully engage my muscles with very thorough explanations.

Once I was close to finishing my challenge, I saw that they were also offering cross-training style classes/ WODs & I felt like that was way too extreme for me. But Seamus, one of the owners of the gym, really encouraged me to try the class out and all I can say is, I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!!!
From the workouts, to the great coaching, to gaining knowledge and strength all while learning technique, etc., this sport has probably been, by far, one of my favorites & it probably has a lot to do with the atmosphere as well!
This gym has so much to offer! You’ll be surprised at how lucky this community is to have this gym and these amazing people to coach you.

Going to a gym was something we were never really fond of and it can be a little intimidating sometimes. Being fit and eating healthy is something we've tried to work on over the years, but was not always consistent. We had seen a trial fitness challenge with Ascend fitness and thought what have we got to lose.
Taking that first step to something new can be difficult, but they instantly made us feel welcomed and part of their family and here we are going on three months now. Working out has become a routine part of our lives. We love what its done for us and It's been exciting seeing the fat loss and building of muscle.
The trainers are great and help motivate you to reach your potential. Also, they are very knowledgeable and help you with proper mechanics to keep you safe. We love having the group classes with instruction so you know exactly what to do and you're not on your own. One of the best things about this place is there are so many different age ranges and many different fitness levels. So no matter where you are in your journey come and check out this place you will not be disappointed.
“I joined Ascend Fitness just in time for their 6 week challenge. I attended the workouts 4+ times per week and received custom calorie and macro counts for best results. I could have been more disciplined with the diet side of things, but still saw great results.
I lost about 1 lb or fat mass per week and gained a little muscle. Here are some before and after shots to see what that looks like. Also, posing and flexing goes a long way 😋.
